Children and Women in Mongolia

Number of sentenced children and women in Mongolia are growing at an alarming rates. According to a report from the Capital’s Court, Mongolia, over 3800 people were passed sentence last year. 1562 of them are serving their sentence in person.

509 of sentenced citizens are women and 272 are children. Compared it with 2007, the number of women grew by 132. Most of children or 95 are girls. Most of children and women have committed crimes such as robbing, stealing, and defrauding others.

A court gave sentences of imprisonment to 370 of 509 women and sentences of fine and arrest to others. Currently, 154 women are serving their sentence in person.

Last year, 718 of punished citizens served over twice previously. 243 people’s life and 1225 health were suffered losses due to crimes decided by the court.
Also, over 20 billion MNT of damage was occurred to citizens and enterprises.
