Mongolia China Relations

Representative led by M.Enkhbold, Deputy Premier of Mongolia, paid an official visit to the People’s Republic of China on November 14-17, 2008.

During the visit, M.Enkhbold, the Deputy Premier and Chairman of the Mongolian side of Mongolian-Chinese Intergovernmental Commission, and Chen Jien, Chinese side’s chairman, met in Beijing, China.

The 60th Anniversary of the Intergovernmental Commission is occurring soon and thus, the sides agreed to hold a meeting of the commission frequently and to work with initiative in order to implement planned works.

They also exchanged views on some issues. In particular, USD 300 million soft loan from the Chinese Government was talked on all level but it has not reached at a certain result yet. So, the Mongolian side should plan which sector will be spent this property in and should prove it by the Parliament.

If it is proved, above money will be spent for supplying citizens with apartments, improving construction materials manufacture and infrastructure, and enhancing infrastructure of the Zamiin-Ude border and power of the railway.

Over USD 50 million will be spent for 750 km road is being built along the border of our western region which borders with Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, Deputy Premier M.Enkhbold said.

Chinese side chairman Chen Jien expressed the Chinese Government’s position on allowing the soft loan to effective sectors or above planning five fields of the Mongolian Government.
