Mongolia crime facts: The total number of crimes committed as of the end of 2008 was 20.7 thous, as decreases by 2.7 percent or 564 compared to the same period of previous year.

Comparing to of previous year 2008, the total number of committed crime increased by 3.7-27.5 percent in Bayan-Olgii, Arkhangai, Selenge, Uvs, aimags and Ulaanbaatar city. But decreases by 1.3-31.2 percent in the other aimags.

Decreases were recorded in crime against social safety 5.3 percent, forgery 7.3 percent, occupational related crime 8.0 percent, crime against traffic safety and use 10.5 percent, crime against ownership right 12.7 percent, crime against judicial procedure 15.3 percent, theft of property 16.6 percent, crime against human freedom, rights and reputation 27.3 percent, attempted murder 29.0 percent, crime against military service 37.9 percent, mugging 49.6 percent.

Mongolia crime facts increases: in fraud 6.1 percent, death due to unfortunate occasion 6.4 percent, crime against child, family and social morality 10.9 percent, crime against national safety 12.0 percent, crime against human life and health(or physical well-being) 11.7 percent, crime against economic entity 14.0 percent, bodily aggravated crime 15.3 percent, crime against administrative rule 22.8 percent, robbery 24.7 percent, crime against population health 36.0 percent, negligent murder 64.3 percent, crime against political and other rights and freedom of individuals 66.7 percent, crime against environmental protection 3.1 times more.

Mongolia crime facts in figures: 54.8 billion togrogs worth of damage showing an increased of 86.0 percent and total damages restitution was 7.0 billion togrogs showing an increase of 75.0 percent. The 41.4 percent or 22.7 billion togrogs of crime caused damage was a damage on individual property.
