Mongolia Economy Figures in 2008

As for the first 10 months of year 2008, foreign trade circulation 5165.5 million US$, export is 2160.9 million US$ and import 3004.6 million US$ and foreign trade loss reached 843.7 million US$. Foreign trade loss size is increased by 654.5 million US$ if compares with the previous year and 87.4 million US$ than previous month.

It was influenced by the increase of import product (by 34.1%) and decreased export product, because of the consumer goods price and petroleum price increase. Total circulation increased by 651% than the previous year, export by 47.1% and import by 81.2%. Copper enriched ore export decreased by 4.6% and influenced in the data by 12.3%. As for the first 10 months of year 2007, 1 ton copper enriched ore price was 1312.4 US$ in average and it was increased up to 1545.9 US$ or by 17.8% in the first 10 months of year 2008.

Un-smelted gold export size is increased by 60.6% and price is increased by 2.3% also. As of the first 10 months of year 2007, one ton of un-processed gold price was 19.5 thousand US$ and it was increased by 41.2% and reached 27.6 thousand tons in the first 10 months of year 2008.

Mineral export, highly influential product in the import of Mongolia, is increased by 365.7 million US$, auto, air and marine transportation vehicle and their parts import by 224.2 million US$, automobile, vehicle, electrical device and their parts import by 173.2 million US$, basic metal and its products import by 101.0 million US$, food import by 73.7 million US$, vegetable product import by 53.2 million US$, chemical and chemical industry products by 34.2 million US$ and textile and textile product import is decreased by 9.3 million US$.

Petroleum import size increased by 28.8 thousand tons and its price 123.3 million US$, sedan vehicle import size by 15.0 thousand units or 90.0 million US$, flour import size by 45.5 thousand tons or by 32.2 million US$ and electricity import size decreased by 19.5 million kilowatt/hour or price increased 926.1 thousand US$.
