Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The city's election committee has reported on the official results of local re-elections.
Seven political parties took part in the local re-elections. A total of 165 candidates, including 42 independent ones, competed for 45 seats in the city's Khural of Citizens' Representatives.
Five parties participated in the re-elections to the self-governance organs of Songinokhairkhan, Chingeltei, and Bayanzurkh districts, forwarding 314 persons, including 49 independent candidates. Of 436 966 registered voters, more than 286 thousand cast their votes.
The activity rate reached 65.6 percent ensuring a validity of the local elections.
The most active were voters of Bayanzurkh district showing rate of 71.4 percent.
According to the results of the re-elections to the city's Khural of Citizens' Representatives, the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party won 36 seats out of 45, the Democratic Party - nine.
In Bayanzurkh district, MPRP won all nine mandates. Of six mandates of Bayangol district, five went to MPRP and one to DP.
In Sukhbaatar district, MPRP won four seats, and DP two seats. MPRP won three seats in Bagakhangai, Baganuur and Nalaikh districts and all six seats in Chingeltei district.
Thereby, MPRP gained a victory in local re-elections. DP won five seats in Khan-Uul district. As for the re-elections to the districts' self-governance organs, MPRP gained a victory.
In Bayanzurkh, MPRP won 35 seats, in Chingeltei MPRP has 23, DP got 12 seats. In Songinokhairkhan district, MPRP won 31 mandates, whereas DP 4 mandates.
