Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The National Council for Regulating External Propaganda and Cultural Relations of Mongolia has reviewed its activities run in 2008 and approved a plan for 2009.

At the meeting, Vice Minister of External Relations B.Enkhmandakh said that many activities were organized in 2008 such as a meeting of investors in London, Mongolian-Singaporean Days in Singapore, and convention of Mongolists in Hungary. Besides, the "Voice of Mongolia" radio program is run via Internet in five Languages to publicize Mongolia abroad.

Presently, an issue is discussed on the establishment of the Mongolia Publicizing Center nearby the Niagara Waterfall in the United States. In 2008, MNT 100 million were allocated from the government budget for the external propaganda. The same amount of funds is budgeted in 2009. Next year, the council plans to organize less in number, but more efficient activities.

Beijing Olympic medalists are involved in the external propaganda campaign. Next year, IP Phone system will be introduced in the Ministry and the diplomatic representatives of Mongolia in foreign countries. "Chinggis Khaan and Great Mongol Empire" exhibition will be staged in the United States and many other countries.

A web-page will be opened to advertise Mongolian export products, the 70th anniversary of Victory in Khalkh Gol Battle will be celebrated, and a national logo will be created with a support of international organizations.

Besides, an activity will be organized to distribute the "Mongolia Today" magazine, the "Mongol Messenger" and the "Khumuun Bichig" newspapers published by the MONTSAME News Agency to diplomatic representatives in foreign countries.

At the meeting, the president of the Confederation of Mongolian Journalists D.Sarangerel requested to pay more attention to foreign trips of journalists through the channels of the Ministry. It is of importance to invite foreign journalists as well.
