Mongolia Health information in the first ten months of 2008

52264 gave births and 52411 children were born in the first ten months of 2008 and this shows increase of 15.2 percent or 6.9 thousand compared with the same period of previous year.

In the first ten months of 2008, the infant mortality per 1000 live births was 19 showing an increase 1 point and under five mortality per 1000 live births showing a decrease 1 point compared with the same period of previous year.

The infant mortality /per 1000 live births/ was higher than the national average in provinces of Uvurkhangai, Gobisumber, Dornogobi, Gobi-Altai, Khentii, Arkhangai, Bayankhongor, Umungobi, Sukhbaatar, Uvs.

Maternity mortality was 26 and this shows a decrease of 29.7 percent or 11 mothers. But, aged until five children mortality was 1218 and it shows an increase of 21.3 percent or 214 children compared with the same period of pervious year.

The number of infectious diseases was 34.8 thousand showing an increase of 5.7 percent or 1.9 thousand people compared with the same period of previous year. The number of infectious disease per 10000 people were130. This shows an increase by 5 people compared with the same period of previous year.

But, the number of viral hepatitis increased by 47.2 percent, trichomoniasis by 31.7 percent, gonococcal by 26.1 percent, syphilis by 31.1 percent, smallpox by 17.1 percent, and tuberculosis by 3.7 percent.
The viral hepatitis was spread by volatile, especially children of kindergarten, and school age.

The number of infectious viral hepatitis “A” was 88.7 percent in total number of infectious viral hepatitis. In the first ten months of 2008, total number of hand, foot, and mouth disease were 3192 people.

In the first ten months of 2008, HIV/AIDS of 12 cases registered and now nation level have of 46 cases of HIV/AIDS.
In the first ten months of 2008, a total of 12.3 thousand people died in nationwide and 3.3 thousand people of total deaths registered in hospital.

The death decreased by 2.8 percent compared with the same period of previous year. A total of 529.8 thousand people took treatment in the hospital.

The private hospitals served 718.5 thousand people and 5.9 billion tugrugs service in the first ten months of 2008.

The number of people served by the private hospitals decreased by 7.5 percent and the service payment increased by 14.1 percent compared with the same period of pervious year.
