Mongolia Pazyryk

Mongolia Pazyryk findings

On November 7 President N. Enkhbayar participated at a ceremony to hand over Pazyryk findings dating back to the 3rd to 4th Century BC, uncovered in the Mongol Altai Mountains, to Mongolia's organization of sciences. At the ceremony opening, Russian Ambassador V.A.Govorin expressed his pleasure at being able to pass these archaeological findings, so valuable in the world of science and found with much effort by Mongolian-Russian scientists, to Mongolians.

The President commented that they were witnessing a rare event in the world of science and history, recalling that an unbroken archaeological find with relics never unearthed before had been discovered in the Mongol Altai Mountains in 2006; this had been transported by a Border Military Office helicopter to avoid breakage; he had also been shown scientific works at the Archaeology and Ethnology Institute at Novosibersk when visiting Russia in 2007.

The President congratulated Mongolian and Russian scientists and researchers for their splendid exploration efforts and momentous discovery. Afterwards, attendants at the ceremony were shown a documentary about the value of archaeological exploration, digging and science, as well as an exhibition of garments, tools and decorations from the Hunnu dynasty dating back 2200 years.
