Modern Mongolian costumes are more colorful, more exotic and more fancy. Mongolians abroad wear their traditional costumes for special occasions such as Mongolia's Independent Day which falls on July 11, Tsagaan Sar Lunar New New (falls on different dates each year and vary from Chinese dates), ceremonial celebrations (wedding, hair cut, mother's day, childrens' day etc) and even during Western holidays like Christmas, New Year.
