Mongolian University of Science and Technology is is a multidisciplinary and multilevel center for education, training and scientific research.
It is also one of the largest centers for scientific and cultural exchanges in Mongolia. Approximately two third of the academically educated Mongolians have graduated from MUST. MUST offers bachelor's, master's, and PhD programs.
The Mongolian University of Science and Technology is marking its 50th Anniversary and a museum will be erected in a scope of it.
The museum, which will show all development stages, is planned to establish in September, 2009.
An action for documents and materials related with the university�s history has launched.
- 1959- Foundation of civil engineering courses at the National University of Mongolia and a course on Industrial Economics at the Economics Institute.
- 1961- Setting up of Mechanical Engineering department.
- 1962- Foundation of Auto-Transport- Mechanical Engineering Faculty, Civil Engineering, Architecture and Electrical Power departments.
- 1964- Setting up of Sanitary Engineering, Construction Materials Production, Construction and Road Engineering courses.
- 1969- Foundation of the Polytechnic Institute as a part of the National University of Mongolia with 5 faculties and 13 departments.
- 1970- Foundation of Food Industry, Communications Engineering Economics Faculties
- 1972- Setting up Mining, Wood Processing Industry faculties
- 1973- Establishment of Hydro, Engineering and Architecture departments
- 1977- Creation of Wood Industry Department, Production Thermal Supply, Thermal Dynamics departments
- 1979 Setting up Drilling Engineering, Sanitary Engineering laboratories
- 1980 Setting up of Metal Technology Department, Mechanics and Technology Faculty, and Geodesy Department at the Geology and Mining Faculty.
- 1982 Establishing the Polytechnic Institute as an independent institute by the Government Resolution.
- 1990- Its name was changed as the Mongolian Technical University.
