"WORLD MONGOLIANS" CONVENTION HELD
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ A "World Mongolians" convention, a third one, took place November 3-4, 2008, in Vienna, the Republic of Austria.
Opening the measure, an advisor to President of Mongolia on NGOs Z.Tumenjargal sounded a letter of the President. The "World Mongolians" convention's president Dr. Ts.Gombosuren gave a report on the convention's works and future goals. A member of Vienna city's parliament Elizabeth Vitouchek congratulated the gathered and gave a speech on behalf of Vienna's Mayor.
She was followed by reports about ways of developing the convention's activities, protection of Mongolian language, culture and custom, refining Mongolia's educational system and boosting the industrial and tourism sectors of Mongolia.
A business meeting run at the same time gathering representatives of Mongolia, Austria, Russian Kalmykia and Buryatia.
In the third convention "World Mongolians" took part representatives of 10 countries. First convention was held in Mongolia in 2006 as a part of celebrating the 800th anniversary of founding the Great Mongol Empire, the second one took place in 2007 in Russia's Kalmykia under the theme "Cultural Days of Mongolia".
